The latest story going round in world news is the embarrassing manner in which 5 respectable managing Directors of 5 banks in Nigeria were kicked out of office last week. Many have different opinions. A cab driver said, and I quote; ‘ God catch them, they will not give business men loans to do business, instead, they are using investors money to do oil importation. Why can they not face their profession and let business men take that risk” end quote. Though I disagree to that but… I am just an observer. I walked into a small shop and overheard the retail attendant fuming, I quote; “ …but that is rubbish. That woman nurtured the bank like her own child… nna m-e-n the woman should take them to court” end of quote. What ever the view, I am of the opinion that posterity will judge and Nigeria will be better off with a revived economy.
Other news as seen below are subtle, but one sends shivers down your spine…”Blood Oil Dripping From Nigeria” The first thing that comes to mind are scenes from BLOOD DIAMOND, the movie that featured Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou. Diamonds were mined in African war zones and sold to finance the conflicts and profit the warlords and the diamond companies across the world. Is that what we are witnessing in Nigeria?
